TRUCKS CLEAN THE ROADS, BUT THERE IS THINGS YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR CAR AND YOU SIDEWALKS, BELOW IS SOME THINGS TO HELP YOU WHEN THERE IS ICE.

below is some things to melt ice.
store ice melter------------ you can buy this very cheap at most gas stations and stores like wall-mart, Hy-vee, pamida, and target and many other stores. i recommend you buy this before you use homemade ice melter's.

Alfalfa meal ------------- This is a totally natural fertilizer that contains nitrogen to make ice melt, you just want to be careful where you put this so in the spring you wont have alfalfa growing all over your yard

salt ------------you should use chloride salt, it is a very common ice melter, it is pretty cheap and it comes in big packages, all you need to do is dumb it on the ice or snow, and give it a little time and it should melt the ice or snow

hot water------------ hot water lasts for a while but not too long because it will get cold and freeze. but if there is ice under you cars tires you can pour hot water under and around your tires to melt the ice so then you can back out but hurry, cause the hot water will soon get cold and freeze

torch ----------- i don't really recommend using this but it does work as a last resort, just take a torch and melt the ice.

kitty litter, sand, coal cinders, wood ashes -------- all of these work to help you get traction on ice and so you don't fall as easy

if you mix these two chemicals together half and half you should be able to pour or spray this on the windshield of your car to melt the ice so you can use your car faster when you need to and drive safer with a clear window
